Congratulations Girls Track! -
We are excited to report that our girls track team won regionals this week! This is the top honor for this area!
7th & 8th grade Band Marching-
We are so excited that for the first time ever in UMS history our 7th & 8th grade bands marched with the SJHS band in the Memorial Day Parade downtown SJ on Friday! This was such a great experience!
Media Center -
All Library books are due to the Media Center by next Wednesday, May 31st!
Last week for NHS Tutoring -
Next Tuesday and Thursday will be the last NHS tutoring at the high school. If you’d like to attend, please have your child stop by the office to pick up a pass before noon. We will not have tutoring by NHS students at Upton next Wednesday, May 31st.
Last Late Start next Wednesday -
Next Wednesday, May 31st, is our last late start of the school year. School will begin at 8:45am.
8th grade farewell -
Friday, June 2nd we will be having our annual 8th grade farewell for our 8th graders. This year we will be returning to an evening event for families. The ceremony will be held at the John and Dede Howard Auditorium at the High School from 6:30 - 8:00PM.
The dance committee wanted to share some specific information with you to bring you up to speed as well as to make you aware of ways you can contribute and/or participate to help make this event special for our students.
The dance is open ONLY to 8th graders and will be held in the Upton Cafeteria following the farewell from 8:15 - 10:00 PM. The theme of the dance is “Oh The Places You Will Glow”. Please encourage your student to dress with this theme in mind and also remember that the school's dress code applies to the dance as well.
The students will be bused from the high school to Upton after the farewell. Please pick your child up promptly by 10pm.

Yearbooks -
Yearbooks have arrived and will be passed out next week. If any student hasn't purchased a yearbook yet, they can come see Mrs. Byerle directly with cash or a check made out to St Joseph Public Schools for $45. There are only about 30 yearbooks left and it's on a first come first serve basis.
