8th Grade Farewell-

Upton 8th graders will be honored at our annual 8th Grade Farewell on Friday, June 4th in a different way.   In years past this event was held in our Blue Gym for families to attend in the evening but this year, due to Covid and indoor gathering restrictions, this will be a student-only event during the school day.  Last year's 8th graders unfortunately did not get a chance to wrap things up at all, so we are glad we will have a different way to bring some closure at UMS.

Our 8th grade students will be outdoors for an extended picnic lunch and awards ceremony.  We will also have lawn games, photo opportunities and Dilly Bars, all being provided by our wonderful PTO.

Our 8th grade students have been resilient, flexible, and we know they will do great things at SJHS!

Community Corkboard -

Is soccer something your son/daughter might be interested in?  Summer reading opportunity?  Camps, etc.?  Check out the community corkboard on our district website:

BALANCE  is our theme for MAY

Part of finding or maintaining balance is taking time for yourself amidst the business of the end of the school year (even if it’s just a couple minutes).  Remember to do things like take a quick break, enjoy nature, breathe, etc… Here are some helpful resources:

Extra Yearbooks -

There are still lots of yearbooks available to purchase.

There are 3 ways to purchase a Yearbook:

(1)  Send $45 cash or check to the Upton office and fill out a brief form so I know who purchased it and where to deliver it. - (the book is regularly $48 at this time but I can still accept the $45 price from before the last increase)

(2)  Pay $48 online through the SJPS RevTrak system.  (I think the Upton Website has info - this is the regular price of $48)

(3)  Order one through the YOC (Yearbook Order Center) this way also has the regular $48 price.  YOC link:   https://www.yearbookordercenter.com/?event=general.displayLanding&jobnumber=40020

Thanks for supporting the 2021 Yearbook!

Mr. Khan

Memorial Day, NO School-

No School on Monday, May 31st for Memorial Day.

Enjoy your holiday weekend!

Memorial Day is an American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military. Originally known as Decoration Day, it originated in the years following the Civil War and became an official federal holiday in 1971. Many Americans observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries or memorials, holding family gatherings and participating in parades. Unofficially, it marks the beginning of the summer season.
