Dear Upton Families,
A wonderful concert! -
Our 6th grade orchestra and band students put on a wonderful concert Tuesday evening! For many of them it was their first concert of their musical careers! Thanks to Mrs. Cabanilla-Sinnettt, Mr. Doe, and Mr. Lokey for their wonderful instruction!
The Dance Tonight -
This is a 7th & 8th grade dance only beginning at 5:30 PM. This is a UMS student dance only. No HS or outside students are invited. Please have rides ready by 7:30 PM.
The Giving Tree -
This is an opportunity to support our very own Brown Elementary and Upton School community directly and confidentially. The sign-up linked here has all the detailed information you need. Please read carefully about labeling gifts and drop-off information to ensure we are able to keep items coordinated. Thank you so much for helping us make this holiday season special for our families.
Congratulations -
Please congratulate the following 7th and 8th grade band and orchestra students who participated in the MSBOA MS Solo & Ensemble Festival last Saturday, Dec. 3rd at Paw Paw MS. All Upton MS students received Division I & II ratings and medals.
PTO Volunteer Opportunity! -
This year the UPTO is excited to once again continue the tradition of honoring the Upton Middle School staff with a Holiday Breakfast. It is a chance to thank them for all they have done this half of the school year, and for them to have a chance to take a moment and celebrate together. Please consider donating and/or volunteering to help support this event. Check out the Sign-Up Genius link for details:

Skipping BEAR Time -
Every day we have BEAR time for students to get extra support and assistance. We also have sessions where teachers request students to come for a reason. If a student purposely skips a BEAR time session that they are assigned, a detention can be given.
Upton Bears Student Credit Union-
The Credit Union is open every Tuesday during all lunch periods, outside the cafeteria. Upton Bears Student CU offers great incentives to promote good saving habits for students. All new members will receive $15 if they open their membership with at least $1 (membership forms are available at the Upton Bears Student CU table or in the school office). All existing members will receive $5 for making their first deposit at Upton Bears Student CU. There is a prize box so students can choose a prize with every deposit. Every deposit is entered into a monthly drawing to win a gift basket with a $25 Visa gift card. Every deposit is also entered into an annual drawing to win either an iPad Mini or a $250 deposit into their savings account at the end of the school year!
November Winner - Adija Varnelis
PTO Accepting Gift Card Donations! -
Help us spoil our Upton teachers and staff with gift cards this holiday season. UPTO is collecting $10 gift cards from local businesses that will be presented to staff grab-bag style at the holiday breakfast. Any extra cards will be used throughout the year as drawings and fun incentives for staff!
Please drop gift cards in the black drop box near the buzzer outside the main entrance of the school no later than December 19th. Thank you for your support!
