Mandarino Minutes for 10-8-21

 Dear Parents/Guardians,

Student Council-

Students can sign up to run for Student Council in their 1st hour class by Tuesday, October 12th.  Information has been posted in each google grade level classroom. 

Steps to running for student council:

-​​Sign up to run for Student Council in 1st hour by Tuesday 10/12

-Campaign Wednesday 10/13 & Thursday 10/14 (display posters)

-Speeches & voting on Friday 10/15

If your child has any questions, please contact Mrs. Mulliner or Mrs. Hubble.

No School on Monday, October 18th-

Students will have Monday, October 18th off as the entire SJPS staff will have a Professional Development day.

Upton Planetarium Nights-

Planetarium Community Night scheduled for October 19th has been cancelled.  The following nights are planned for the Planetarium:

Legends of the Night Sky: Orion on December 9th

Dawn of the Space Age on February 7th

Magic Treehouse: Space Mission on March 10th

Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity on April 20th

Planetarium nights are free of charge.

Late Start Wednesday-

Next Wednesday, October 13th is late start Wednesday and school begins at 8:45am. The school opens and breakfast is available beginning at 8:15 AM.

Positivity Project Next Week-

Next week's theme is: Other People Mindset- Being present and giving others my attention. 5 of the themes:

1. Identifying and appreciating the good in others
2.  Knowing that my words and actions affect others
3. Cheering other peoples successes
4. Being present and giving others my attention
5. Supporting others when they struggle

10/14/21 – Hot Ham & Cheese, French Fries, fruit choice

10/15/21 – Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza, Veggies and Dip, fruit choice

Sandwiches and Salads will also be available daily as an entree.
